Get a Grip: Double D Handle Overview

Using the right equipment is the key to building muscle and achieving your fitness goals. And, when it comes to cable attachments, the double D attachment stands out for its versatility.

This innovative piece of equipment is a must for anyone looking to reap the benefits of their workout and get the most out of every rep.

In this blog post, we’ll look at the features and benefits of the Bells of Steel Double D Handle, as well as show you how to use it for some of the most effective exercises you can carry out on your next workout.

The Double D Handle features an ergonomic design perfect for cable machine workouts. It comes with a 7.1” hand grip length and weighs 4.2 lbs. The diameter is 25mm with texturized rubber coating on the handles.

The handle is specifically designed to fit on cable machines that use a carabiner. This ensures that the attachment stays securely in place during your workouts, so you can focus on your form and technique. As long as you have a carabiner that fits, you’re good to go.

In addition to its secure fit, the Double D Handle also features a non-slip grip that’s more comfortable than bare metal. This means you can work out longer and harder without worrying about your grip slipping when the sweat starts dripping, leading to injuries or a subpar workout.

The neutral grip handles of the Double D Handle can also help reduce the risk of injury from straining your wrists or elbows during exercises. This is especially important for exercises like V Bar pull-ups or close-grip lat pulldowns, which can put a lot of strain on these joints.

Exercises You Can Do with the Double D Handle

Now that you know why the Double D Handle is such a great attachment, let’s take a closer look at how to use it for some of the most effective exercises.

V Bar Pull-ups

To use the Double D Handle for V Bar pull-ups, rest the handle on your pull-up bar or power rack. Then, stand underneath and grab onto the handles with a neutral grip. Pull yourself up until your chin is above the handles, then lower yourself back down— alternate side-to-side with each rep.

Landmine Rows

For landmine rows, start by inserting one end of a barbell into a landmine attachment. Then, place the Double D Handle under the other end of the barbell with the handles facing up. Straddle the barbell, facing the front (back to the landmine attachment) and grab onto the Double D Handle with a neutral grip. Hinge your hips while keeping a neutral spine, as you would for a bent-over row. Pull the barbell up towards your chest, keeping your elbows tucked, then lower it back down.

Close-Grip Lat Pulldowns

To perform close-grip lat pulldowns with the Double D Handle, attach the handle to the cable machine using the carabiner. Sit on the bench and grab onto the handles with a neutral grip. Squeeze your shoulder blades together and pull the handles down towards your chest, then slowly release them back up.

Seated Low Rows

For seated low rows, attach the Double D Handle to the low-row part of the cable machine using the carabiner. Sit on the floor with your feet braced and grab onto the handles with a neutral grip. Squeeze your shoulder blades together and pull the handles towards your chest to activate your lats, then slowly release back to the starting position.

Tricep Pushdowns

To use the Double D Handle for tricep pushdowns, attach the handle to the cable machine using the carabiner. Stand facing the cable machine and grab onto the handles with an overhand neutral grip (knuckles facing each other). Push the handles down towards the floor, then slowly release them back up. Your elbows will be more flared than tricep pushdowns with a straight bar attachment or rope attachment, which will effectively hit the long head of the tricep. It’s still important to keep your upper arms stable while taking the lower arms through your full range of motion.
