A revolutionary powerlifting bar at an unbeatable price.

Intended explicitly for powerlifting and to meet IPF specs, the Barenaked Powerlifting Bar is designed for people whose three favorite words are squat, bench and deadlift.

Benefits of the Barenaked Powerlifting Bar

The Barenaked Powerlifting Bar is the best powerlifting bar you can get for just over $200. A bold claim, I know, so here’s why having this bar in your gym will put you on a gainz-train to Muscleville.

  • Meets IPF specs. In powerlifting, training with competition-like conditions gives you a serious advantage over your competitors. Designed precisely to meet IPF standards, this bar will give you the competition-like practice you need — so you can leave it all on the platform.
  • Cheese-grater knurling. There’s not much worse than missing a new deadlift PR by losing your grip on a smooth-knurled barbell. With a bare steel finish and aggressive knurling, this bar will stick to your hands like peanut butter to the roof of your mouth.
  • Serious stiffness. With a 210,000 PSI tensile strength and 1,500lb capacity, bar whip is non-existent on this bad boy. After all, nothing beats that glued-to-your-back feeling when squatting record-setting weights. For more info, check out Deadlifting with a Stiff Power Bar.
  • Ribbed chrome sleeves. Shifting plates while lifting can lead to an uneven bar, increasing your risk of injury and at best, throwing off your technique. The ribbed chrome sleeves on the Barenaked Powerlifting Bar help grip the plates to keep them anchored in place. Best friends are great, but technique mastery takes the cake.

IMPORTANT: For bare steel barbells, we take extra precautions to reduce any oxidation/rusting while in storage and transit by coating the barbell in oil. That said, small rust spots may be visible when you receive it. We advise cleaning the bar with some simple green cleaner and a BBQ brush, then wipe dry with a microfiber cloth. Power bars are the most relevant to powerlifters. Our Bells of Steel powerlifting barbells are designed to have relatively no whip. They are stiffer or more rigid in order to accommodate heavier lifts. These don’t require sleeves to spin freely so they have bushings that are generally used for slower lifts.

You can get our Bells Of Steel Barenaked Powerbar and our best-selling Onyx Powerlifting Cerakote Bar for just $300.

Barbells are the best tool to train for strength, power, and muscular size. Barbells are the most ergonomically-friendly load-handling tool in existence. Their flexible nature allows you to target a full range of motion for all your major leverage systems; these small increases result in amazing gains in size and strength.

A powerlifting barbell is more rigid to better accommodate heavier weights. It also tends to be thicker (usually 1mm thicker) than an Olympic weightlifting bar, with slightly different markings on it. Powerlifting bars do not have needle bearings and instead have brass bushings, as they don’t need the sleeves to spin so freely as they do on Olympic bars.

In the box, you’ll find the barbell itself and a generous coating of oil in order to minimize oxidation during shipping.

Covered under our Limited Lifetime Warranty guarantees that your bar will not bend under normal use, and protects against defects in material, function and workmanship.

Tensile strength measures the strength of the barbell and its ability to withstand bending and still return to a straight level after a heavy weight. It is rated in pounds per square inch (PSI), which is the amount of weight needed to pull the bar apart.

Typically, power bars all follow a similar design. Our Bells of Steel powerlifting bars’ length is 2200 millimetres (86.6 inches) and 29 millimetres (1.1 in) in diameter. We follow the International Powerlifting Federation requirements using strictly the same kind of bar on all lifts.

Both barbells and dumbbells are perfectly ideal for gaining size and strength. However, they aren’t quite the same thing. Barbells allow you to progressively overload more effectively and are typically better for your heavy lifts. Dumbbells are better for accessory lifts, endurance-style training, and muscle building.

Our very own Bells of Steel Barenaked Powerbar is made of bare steel with a hardened chrome sleeve finish while our powerlifting Onyx Powerlifting Bar takes it to the next level as it upgrades with a Cerakote shaft and sleeves finish. Bells of Steel produces top-quality barbells that will last a lifetime in your home or commercial gym.

Knurl is all the rage these days

For the money it's got a great knurl , aggressive enough and great feel. I don't like the whip of a regular Olympic bar for bench or squat and this bar took care of that. I can't think of a better value out there.

Best Bang for your Buck!

I am absolutely in love with this bar. The knurling is perfect, and there is zero whip, even with heavier loads. I've used Ohio and Texas P bars, and honestly prefer this.

Bare naked power bar 2.0

I’ve owned this barbell for 6 mos now and I couldn’t be more satisfied the build quality is excellent and the knurling is fairly aggressive perfect for bench and deadlift. As far as I’m concerned calling this a “budget barbell” is out of bounds I’ve used a variety of power bars from other manufactures and this barbell is as good or better then any of them. I’ve only used this in a temp controlled home gym but it shows no rust whatsoever. Keep up the great work guys and thanks again for a great barbell.

Great Buy, No Regrets

The knurling is great, makes a noticeable difference on dead lifts, not too aggressive either. The bar itself looks great. And the thin collars are a great touch!
